Hello there! I was looking at your rp and it looks really interesting. I'm debating on which muse I want to apply with here and I think I know which one I would like but I wanted to check with how you would feel about her and if I should change her somewhat.

The muse I want to play is from Stephenie Meyer's The Host if you've heard of it. Its basically about a woman who's body is inhabited by a foreign species that have named themselves souls, a rough translation of what they are. The body, that still retains the mind of the original woman, is Melanie Stryder, and the soul is Wanderer, or Wanda for short.

I was wondering if I would app them as one person and how that would work, or if I should app them separately since they do split at the end of the book and each have their own bodies. I don't mind how you want me to do this, but I thought I should run it by you guys first. Thanks!

Thanks for your question! It's perfectly acceptable to have two people within the same body. You can submit one application for them, and they'll be counted as a single character when we determine character limits. What you would need to do on your application is to make sure you write down what each of their personalities is like, and if they have any different abilities while a different personality is in control. It's also a good idea to include both their separate histories, if they have one.

As a side-note, actual aliens won't fit well into the game setting. But since the game is AU, if you want to make these souls something other than aliens - or even just say they have mysterious origins - that would be a good alternative.

(Er, assuming they're aliens at all - this particular mod hasn't read those books. If they're not, please disregard that last bit.)

Hey there! Been reading and becoming increasingly interested...I do have a couple things that need clarification, however.

First, and pardon if this is a rather ignorant question, but I'd just want to be certain I understand this so I don't accidentally do it, exactly what is 'sitting'? You mention it in your second rule, and it isn't a term I've come across.

Second, you say that captains are positions given only to people who hold a high position within the game and have extra knowledge. Does this also apply to the first mates, and if so, is it impossible for a regular player to obtain said position?

We mean 'sitting on the character' in the sense that the player only plays that character enough to keep them from being kicked for inactivity, and no more. It isn't very pleasant to play with. ):

First mates are like regular positions; all you need is the captain's approval. :D

Hi there, I'm never one to assume so I just had a few questions for you guys. In any case, I put down a reserve for Edward Elric from the Full Metal Alchemist series. I was interested in putting him onto the Military ship but possibly under a different position. In very rare cases ( and this one especially so due to Edwards age ) he is not really military type - much like in the manga series. Would it be possible to work out something of a cilivian/military position almost like you see in the series itself? Edward could have a official rank, but the government assigns where he works for periods of time?

Secondly, my other question involves the "Magic". Considering Alchemy does have some 'roots' in Steam Punk would be it possible to make upkeep some of those principals as far as the "magic" element was concerned.

I started reading about the "Mages", your concepts of Magi-Tech, as well as Mana Crystals. I don't want to go out on a limb but it would be very easy to fit a canon Edward into a scenario like this. By lets saying he messed around with some Crystals his Dad left behind to try and bring back his dead Mother and ended up losing two of his limbs in the process, which were eventually replaced by "Magic/Machine" or purely "Mechanical" replacements. I just want to know your thoughts on how far I could take this, I think this setting would be very interesting now that I think about it, and I'd love to twist Edward into it.

Oh, of course |D Regular civillians are allowed on the ships as passengers, after all, so it's not a stretch to say that that there could be something along the lines of the State Alchemists in the Ivona military.

And yeah |D We pretty much came up with magitech while thinking of FMA's alchemy, so.

Hello! I'm apping Fubuki from Yugioh GX and I have kind of an... interesting issue. Fubuki pretty much has split personalities, himself and Darkness, and Darkness as I've rewrote him was a pirate. (The switch is caused by a mask he puts on, and he wears it all the time as Darkness) He'll start out in the RP as Darkness but revert to Fubuki pretty quick (this'll all happen in a log with my friend Osaka-mun) and I'll be playing him as just plain Fubuki, on the Victoria II, for probably a good while. BUT, down the road I'm thinking I might do a plot where he reverts to being Darkness and switches sides for some amount of time.

Anyway, my question is, would it be possible for me to make two separate journals for him? It's a secret IC that they are same person, and they'll almost certainly have different difference engines to boot, so it makes some sense. For now the Darkness journal would only be used to RP the first log, and possibly other logs if some plot comes up that causes him to switch briefly while still on the Victoria, but if I do have him change ships later it would be convenient to change journals OOC to reflect the IC switch. Not to mention, it would simplify my icon situation tremendously since they'll have completely different sets XD;

So... um. Would that be alright with you guys? If you need any more info on the character or anything just ask, I kinda just gave a quick-n-dirty version up there.

Sorry, but we think it would be too confusing to other players to let you use two separate journals, split personality or not. If you're worried about which personality is making posts, you could simply mark it in the subject line and still assume that they're using separate journals ICly.

Hello, I'd like to apply as Riku from Kingdom Hearts, and I was wondering... since I would like to keep in his history his thirst for adventure, would it be possible to say he came from a small island? I know that many of the islands are largely uninhabited, so I just wanted to see if it was possible at all.

OK totally random question. What sort of design and propulsion system so these airships use? I gather that sails are the norm for forward thrust, but are they held aloft by some sort of engine, or are they more zeppelin-like? Could we get some more detail on this? It's a minor thing but I need to know these things or I explode.

We made the setting to accommodate all sorts of elements, and that also goes for airships. While seeing steam engines in airships is the most common, there are also zeppelins, the rare ship powered by lightning, and even some ships powered by strong magic or magitech using mana crystals.

As for design, they're still generally similar to sailing ships with some few that more resemble airplanes. Bigger, bulkier ships are generally slower than the smaller, sleeker, more aerodynamic ones. Airships can also use 'wings' and propellers to help with lift, and potentially even weirder things - if it fits in the setting at all, it works!

Hey! I'm making an app for Hiei from YYH and I have some questions. ^.^

In his cannon, he's a demon...but not like Crowley. He's more of an eastern-type. Would I just make him some random type of demihuman or keep him a demon?

Also, he has many....uber-overpowered-abilities that I'm working on cutting down. A list of these include: super-speed, telepathy, remote viewing, and crazy fire powers. I was thinking of keeping his speed and remote-viewing, and allowing him to "project" his thoughts into the minds of others, but not read their minds. Is it safe to assume that controlling fire would fall under this AU's definition of magic? Because if it does, I don't have to worry about that...I doubt he'd bother learning anything like that anyway. ^.^''

I'd also like to talk to the mun of Yuuko Amasawa...I'd like to know more about the 4423 and how Hiei would be able to become a quartermaster on it.

If you'd like to make him a different kind of demon, that's perfectly fine with us! Who's to say there's only one type of demon running around? It's also perfectly acceptable to make him a demihuman, if you'd rather go that route.

We appreciate that you're planning on cutting down his abilities. Controlling fire can be counted as magic, or it may have some other cause, if you can come up with a good explanation for it.

I was looking at your RP, and it looks really interesting, exactly the kind of thing I like! But I have one concern about these kinds of things, which have held me back before.

Because of schooling, I am not able to go on the computer from mondays through thursdays. Do you believe this will inhibit the storyline in anyway? My own character development?

Along with this, is there a specific amont of times per, lets say, week that one must post?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of this rp it probably won't work out. This game relies heavily on logging, and it may become inconvenient to other players if you can only reply a few times a week during certain days.

I am wondering how to deal with an issue....I want to app as Envy from fullmetal alchemist.

Alright so in the manga version of the character, Envy is kind of a giant monster thing in his true form, I was going to still have him shapeshift, but....I didn't thing giant scary monster thing was a good Idea, What am I allowed to do where this is concerned?

And I think this may be worded really funny so if any clarificaition is needed let me know...

Well, you're allowed to AU him for the game, of course. If you can think of a way to make the monster-thing work, it'll be fine with us.

We're not quite sure how huge he was in canon, but we took a look and it's definitely nowhere near the size of even half an airship. You're welcome to either keep him at his canon size as a limit of how big he can shapeshift, or to tone that down a little by making him smaller. Either way is acceptable.

It's a poor area now, but am I correct in understanding that at one point it was prosperous and bustling? Meaning that at one point or another, there was a mass exodus of rich familys out of the area when things started going south, headed for Bellcius or Melior or wherever?

About how recently was the decline?

The decline started happening roughly 100 years ago. It was one of those things that started out gradually, and built up momentum as the problem got worse.

These are all important to my Doktor Sleepless app. These may or may not find their way into the final product, I'm just throwing out feelers to try and figure out WTF I'm going to do for his history. =/

Would it be plausible/permissible that in some major Ivonian city, there exists a a subculture of people who practice Extreme Body Modification; ie actually adding machines into their bodies, and in extreme cases possibly even crude magitech? And if so, which city would be most likely to contain it? I was thinking Abantiare - factory cities always leaves disgruntled teenagers sitting around, and there's no shortage of machine parts to use - but I don't really know.

Also. The journal technology. How long's it been around for? What's the odds on one Mr. John Reinhardt owning the patent? Or, failing that, an underground, anonymous journal network that piggybacks its signals onto legitimate ones?

I'm throwing parts of his history at the wall and seeing what sticks. Oh, and hey, it's not a problem if I'm sort of...vague about certain things in the app? Most specifically, his history and what his goals going forward are. The reason being, the character of John Reinhardt is an enigma, so from canon we don't actually know very much about him.

Since we already have examples of modifications in-game, even if they've been to replace limbs and organs - such as Ed's arm and Watanuki's eye - having a subculture for it would work out great. Abantiare would also be the most likely, yes, but we'd allow it in other cities if it makes sense. Just keep in mind our general limits for machines and magitech and you'll be good.

The journal system has been around for a little over two years. While we'd rather not allow a played character to have the patent, the option of an underground network is both plausible and kind of awesome.

Being vague is also fine, as long as you can write something about his history. We can be a little less leniant when it comes to length, but we'd still like to see about two paragraphs of it.

Um, this is probably a 'duh' question, but since I'm not sure if it's a 'duh, of course you can' or a 'duh, of course that's not okay', I'm asking.

Since Hijikata's personal magnetism is much more effective in person, and the ladies in the game are in general more empowered than the sort that falls all over him (and because he's a damned recluse and doesn't really know anyone well), I couldn't get Hijikata a player character as a date. Would it be okay for me to bring in an NPC as his date? It feels...frankly, kind of OOC for him to say he wasn't able to get one, and I wouldn't like...have her do anything important. She'd pretty much be a walking, talking, accessory, because Hijikata's kind of a bastard like that sometimes.

OK, this is almost certainly not going to fly, but let's try anyways.

Would it be possible for one to affect the journal network itself? To be more specific, what I had in mind was that a certain Doktor would spend a considerable amount of time working with electronics and hackery and the like, to arrange it so that at a specific time, instead of transmitting out journal pages, the network displays a black page with a green ASCII image on it? This would last for two minutes, or until some system engineer somewhere fixes it, whichever comes first. And most likely would not be able to be replicated, as whatever exploit the Doktor used to make it happen would be very shortly found and corrected.

If this is OBVIOUSLY IMPOSSIBLE that's not a problem, but it'd be nifty if it was something he could do for dramatic effect at some point. XD

Doing that would be completely fine, if it works along the lines of a virus. If it depends on machinery, the machinery either have to be at every single transmission tower (which would be hard to do), or only affect a certain area.

Hey, I should probably have asked this earlier (LOLZ FAILURE), but you guys are cool with the Doktor having seeded every major population center in both nations with what basically amounts to a Batsignal? It doesn't do anything, just shines his insignia into the sky. It's one of the many things he spent his time doing during his eight years of absence. He and Rhyme are currently assembling the final one. He would own all the buildings that they're situated on, being a rich motherfucker and all.

Hi! I'm looking to apply Russel Tringham from FMA, and I'd like to still have him be masquerading as Ed, at least at the start, while he's looking for Fletcher. Perhaps get a uniform off the black market, and go around pretending to be him to get access to information tohelp him find Fletcher, after finding out about Ed from the news, and his being a young soldier.

Would this be okay? And would it be possible for you to get me in touch with Ed-mun so we can sort out some specifics? Thanks!

We would be perfectly fine with Russel doing this, as long as Ed-mun is aware of and also okay with it. Unfortunately, she's not yet fully back from a hiatus and it may be difficult to get a hold of her. Your best bet might be to send a private message to her character journal, [info]magitech_limbs, using LJ's new-ish message-sending system.

If you still can't get in touch with her after a few days, please let us know, so we can try to tell her about it.

Yes, they'd be a little bigger than modern laptops now, and also a bit heavier. But they are the same general shape, and similarly portable, if you don't mind your arms getting tired after a while.

Hijikata-mun is also wanting to join in on our little plot proposal, and added a few suggestions to the scheme. Okay here is the plan from Hijikata-mun.

Hijikata would be kinda opposed to letting anyone on the ship but Hitsugaya...The one sabotaging the engine is going to be Kakyoin, using his stand, so there's no one from the 4423 on the ship to get caught or hurt by the gunfire from above. Hitsugaya's powers would make him worth the risk to send in, but anyone else...Kakyoin still needs someone to protect him. He's defenseless while he's using this power to sneak in. So Tira will be used to defend him while Kakyoin attacks.

Is all this okay?

I'm sorry, but this plan isn't going to work out.

While it's an interesting one, the main reason it can't work is that the Victoria II won't be landing. They did sustain a heavy amount of damage to their engines, but it's not enough for them to force a landing - instead, the Victoria II is going to be turning back around either while the bombs are still going off, or directly afterwards. The reason for this is that the ship can't afford to take any more damage should the 4423 try to target them.

Thanks for asking us about your idea! We're sorry if we gave the impression that the Victoria II would still be landing, but this is not the case.
